Stratodesic dome consisting of 24 pcs. of arches with hybrid construction – outer and inner double-layer belt of bent glued boards and with truss construction between them. The dimensions of the arches are. Industrial wood glue class D3 was used in their manufacture, and all glue assemblies are duplicated and mechanically fastened with screws and metal clamps. At their upper end, the arches are reinforced with metal strips forming a joining piece which is clamped with bolts and nuts to the central steel connector with a material thickness of 8 mm and a diameter of 600 mm, which is hot-dip galvanised.

The timber for the dome is coniferous, impregnated in a bath with an agent against mould, rot and woodworm.
In the design of the dome, the so-called “wood preservative” was used. “Leonardo’s ‘Golden Section’ was used, the ratio between the diameter at ground level and the height of the dome being exactly 1.618, the Equator being 1.21 m high.
The Leonardo Dome has been chosen by numerous clients to date, and depending on their needs and desires will be used as a Single Family House, Greenhouse, Yoga and other group activity room, Shared Urban Space or even an Art Installation.

The width of the arches forming the structure is 250 mm, which allows the entire dome to be thermally insulated with 20 cm of stone wool with a ventilation gap on the outside. Combined with the shape of the dome, this provides exceptionally good performance of the house, bringing it as close as possible to the standards of low-energy buildings.
