Our dome models are based on the proprietary geometry StratoLINE and are as follows:
Each of the listed models can be produced in two different ways – as a skeleton or with modular panels:
- As a skeleton made out of arcs, horizontal bracing elements, and connectors
All the arcs, connectors, and subassemblies are made of several layers of Baltic birch plywood. The plywood is 18 mm thick, exterior grade (water resistant to some extent). All the individual elements are cut on a CNC router with great precision and repeatability and are designed in a way that precludes mistakes during the assembly process (in other words – you cannot put the element in the wrong place or in the wrong way).
The arcs and the subassemblies are then put together with glue, screws, nails, and wooden dowels. Usually, there are several layers of elements in the construction of the arcs.
All the elements are marked with individual labels and numbers.
In the kit are included all the required bolts, screws, glue, etc.
A comprehensive assembly manual is provided with pictures and diagrams that guide the client step by step through the assembly process.
The elements are flat-packed on standard euro-palets and can be easily shipped worldwide.
I want to stress that the kit usually contains only the skeleton. All the required materials for finishing the dome should be bought additionally – sheeting, cladding, thermal insulations, hydro insulations, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, flooring, etc.
We can provide a list of the required materials for finishing the dome. These materials can be bought locally or we can deliver a kit with the required materials. Additionally – usually domes around the world are very susceptible to leaks around the windows and door. Also, installing doors and windows on a dome is traditionally very hard and problematic. To solve that problem we have developed some special kits for windows and doors which are made specifically for each model. They are ordered optionally and provide seamless and easy installation of the doors and the windows while ensuring water-tightness and a uniform look of the finished dome.
